What is Hive Choir?
Hive Choir is a queer-affirming singing circle that gathers to learn and share uplifting folk, roots, and medicine songs—songs that move us, ground us, and open our hearts. We sing in rich vocal harmonies, rounds, layers, and chants, and we grow our voices in connection with each other.
This is not a performance-focused group—it’s a community that open the voice and heart, learns resonance, and practices deep listening with a whole lot of joy and laughter (and other feels too).
What does queer-affirming mean?
We explicitly affirm and center queerness as beautiful, sacred, and necessary in contrast to the dominant culture, which sidelines and oppresses it. Queerness is about more than sexuality and gender; it is about bodily autonomy, self-determination, personal choice, sovereignty, and collective liberation.
